“How can this be a joke! I am really sincere in asking Young Lady be a shareholder. Even though the monthly income might not be much, it is still able to let Young Lady earn some packet money. The next day Chu Jin Yao went over to Madam Zhao’s place to report before returning to her room and did needlework by the window. Now that her hands were suddenly no longer tight, she not only had money, but also lots of silk, threads and colourful fabrics that could fill two entire chests. Previously, she had nothing on hand and thus was unable to do anything, but now that she had suddenly become wealthy, Chu Jin Yao had the mood to make the clothes she liked.

She used to fiddle with these things in the past, but unfortunately, the Su family was poor and thus the sisters’ clothes had to be sewn and mended until it could no longer be worn. Upon returning to the residence of Marquis Chang Xing, the Chu family had money, but none of it belonged to her as she relied on the common fund, so how could she have excess fabric to fiddle around with? Now, things had finally improved. She had two boxes of fabrics, so no one could criticise whatever she did.

Upon meeting Marquis Chang Xing, he would then have to meet the provisional and prefecture officials. There were endless troubles that one did not know how long one would be delayed. Tang Xin Yi thought about the Crown Prince, whose situation was still unknown, and really did not have the mood to accompany these officials and lords to casually talk, but due to the situation, he had no choice but to endure. Tang Xin Yi resisted his impatience and accompanied Marquis Chang Xing to play a round of TaiJiGua. Marquis Chang Xing still wanted to probe about Tang Xin Yi’s purpose of arrival when suddenly there were sounds of footsteps. A young soldier-like man quickly ran in, uncaring that there were visitors present, and hurriedly spoke, “GongGong, there is a letter.”

TaiJiGua (太极卦) – 1. Refers to a type of breathing technique which is an internal martial art to resist force with force (redirecting the attacking force back to the aggressor). 2. Implied meaning, in the novel it is used to describe the act of “pushing” the topic or responsibility to others and others will resist, deflect, channel the force back or to another victim and so on. Modern terms: Passing the buck.

Xiao Lin-zi laughed in agreement. When the Crown Prince was just injured, the few of them did their best to hide it for about a month. The Army Commander-in-Chief of Great Tong gradually became suspicious. He wondered if the eunuchs were up to some tricks and insisted on seeing the Crown Prince in person. When he finally saw him in person, the dark clouds in the General’s heart became heavier.

It was over. The Crown Prince was on his territory, led troops to attack the Tartars and was seriously injured and unconscious.
