  5. Somehow, this chapter has me feeling exhaustion for our Empress. This road she had taken ever since her rebirth is becoming more and more arduous. It makes one wonder if she ever get enough beauty sleep. She has to always keep her guard up and not slack off. The scenes are changing from her previous life. Kinda missing our purple prince and empress jiao jiao’s banter. LOL

  21. Although this chapter doesn’t have much in action or big elements, it’s nice to see the little details she’s planning, and how everything is moving along smoothly like a river. I just hope that plan that Shen Yuan had with the prince is truly something within Shen Miao’s expectations….

    If she truly believes this, Shen Dong Ling is gravely mistaken. So long as significant people or groups believe that, say, one does not eat embryos, then said person does not. If the others believe one does then that person eats embryos – and is punished accordingly. Hence, only the opinions of others matter in civilizations.

  31. A sense of satisfaction up to this point. My hope is that what ever Shen Miao is preparing with the courtesan will help when the unexpected attack comes. My worry is that once Shen Miao deals with the Shen family, she may have to go head to head with her purple prince to protect her own family unless she somehow ties him to her side before then. At this point she cannot trust him but she may need him to deal with this new threat. In any event, from what he said earlier I got the feeling that her family will not be safe once his plans advance towards victory.
    As for Shen Dong Ling, they seem to be waiting for an opening just don’t know what it is. Perhaps managing to make a good marriage that would enable them to extricate themselves from this poisonous household. Would have to be a situation that would allow her to take her mother with her. Although that may not be part of their hope I can’t help but think she would want to get her mother out of there. Shen Dong Ling has immense patience and is terribly intelligent, so perhaps I am fooled, but somehow I don’t see her as ambitious for crazy-power.

  37. TBH, while I’m glad she doesn’t need to kill a little kid, it’s incredibly sloppy to rely on the fact that SYB died of plague in the first life. She has changed so many things, what are the odds that he doesn’t go out or meet the person that infected him? Something like catching an illness is very chancy, and her assumption that the heavens will send karma is not in line with her meticulous planning. I think the author didn’t want to go there, because it would damage her image (from the reader’s POV) to kill a child.

    I feel exhausted after reading this really…her second life yes she should put everything right but she is not able to even enjoy the life she was given…no able to be the careless lil girl for her family…sigh!!
