After this year Chrysanthemum banquet, the main names that were discussed in the streets of Ding capital finally changed.

In the room that was nearest to him, sat a white clad male in front of a glass table. He was about twenty years old and was born handsome but had a pretty gentle disposition. After hearing those words for a while, he spoke to the person in front as if he had watched a good show, “It seems that the beauty you saved from before would most likely be in trouble again.”

Facing him, the purple clad youth sat lazily and casually said, “The Shen’s family tree is a tall one that attracts the wind and this blame belong to Shen Xin, his fault to carry. Today it was only a test, there would be finally be one day in that no one in the Shen family would be safe.”

The white clad male paused and suddenly looked at the youth, “Third Xie, why did you injured the Shu brothers in the academy examinations? Could it be that your plans are going to be moved in advance?”

    • I know the parents have good intention to save the country and stuff but I still can’t get rid of this feeling of blame towards them.
      They neglected her. It’s not like they have no choice whatsoever, they do have choice. The mother doesn’t necessarily have to go with her husband. Why leave one vulnerable child behind? Do you not care for them enough to suffer a little to protect and raise them?

      I still can’t get my head around this at all.
      Yes the family is terrible and horrendous and Shen Miao’s fam may not know. However, knowing she has behavioural issues and shit, why isn’t one of her parents actually get hands on and raise her properly? What’s that if not for neglect? Smh

      Anyways, still enjoying this story and MC is awesome.

      • But in previous life, Pei Lang just idle himself when Shen Miao’s son face calamity. He’s not a good person. I don’t like Shen Miao decision to gain favor from this coward teacher.

      If you read the spoilers pei lang is actually the one who gave up his life for her rebirth altho he was an asshole before but now i believe he has changed and could be a good allie.

      • One of the good point of this novel is that it explains to the reader why this entire rebirth actually take place… And also what happen after SM died in her past life… Which I really really appreciate the author for elaborating

        However, Lyn, the later parts of your comment about some people like a bit of spoiler or that was not major spoiler had shown your selfish thought and self-centric behavior. You are not the one who can decide for the other. Unlike person who care nothing about the other like you. A lot of people do not want even a bit of spoiler and you are not the one who can decide for the other reader that what is minor or major spoiler. Because I think the answer how or whom that caused Shen Miao could rebirth is VERY BIG SPOILER . That was the key to answer a lot of questions in the story.

    • Sierraimoet, in SM’s first run-through of life, she was not a respectable or valuable person. So to others, she was not worth saving. Perhaps Pei Lang is not actually a coward, then, but someone with an understanding of clear situations.

      Still, I can’t say I like that guy because of his annoyingly negative attitude regarding his prediction on SM’s performance (which was completely wrong). . .

      His perception is simply not as clear as our dear, upright male protagonist.

    And ugh reading about him is so nauseating, what a waste of a person. I hope our little empress manages to finish him and give him a very painful ending, stopping him from harming any more girls!!

  22. Hmm maybe she should bring Pei Lang to her side instead. He is smart and pretty calm/reasonable personality and haven’t succumbed to the past joining the prince’s side. By having his loyalty, she could have one more card to use for her advantage.

  28. What a heinous combination that the First Prince has. Handicapped, grossly and murderously perverted, lustful, incompetent, spoiled, self-absorbed, delusional and therefore ignorant (when it comes to his impending…whatever, which will probably be exacted by SM), and arrogant… Honestly, I really hate that guy. But the plus side to his existence is that he has the potential to be an excellent stepping stone for SM’s reputation and romance between herself and XJX in the coming chapters.

I didn’t check for an update on Saturday because I thought there wouldn’t be one so finding two chapters waiting for me to read them was awesome. 🙂 I can’t wait to see what goes down in three days. And hmm, of course XJX had planned to eventually deal with his brothers but I’m still wondering what made him realize the sooner the better.   36. 56 chapters in and I must say that every time I read the Miao in SM’s name, I always laugh in my mind because here in Mexico, instead of Meow we say Miau and that reminds me of my cat. But my cat is black and looks like a panther, and SM is like a tiger, so it makes sense.
