Chapter 54: Scheme

In the horse carriage on the way back to the Shen residence, Shen Miao sat alone in a carriage as before. Gu Yu and Jing Zhe who were beside her, were all worried for her. That Prince Yu’s evil reputation was well known to the people of Ming Qi and he just gave Shen Miao an invitation. Not to say that it was inappropriate for Shen Miao, a young lady, to head over, one could see what kind of idea Prince Yu was playing at.

Ren Wan Yun even pat on Shen Miao’s head and lovingly said, “Seeing that Fifth Lady had reached such an age and could be so moving and loving.   3. Tsk2… I really wanna see how this plays out. My blood is boiling again, reading these kinds of schemes. I do hope those 2 daughters end up in a really bad situation. Karma should bite them a bit.

    It would be a fun turn of events if one of the 2 ends up in a predicament and finally married to that Prince Yu, in turn allowing SM liberty from said scheme. *sigh*

    Really, how her family is blind to such schemes that a little girl has to carry the entire family out of the ditch they get burried in for being blind to such maliciousness.

    Maybe one of the other girls will be the sacrificial lamb instead since they want to sacrifice a life for a life.

      • I think Prince Yu cannot ascend to the throne since he is disabled and is considered to be a diff generation (the Emperor is his bro and throne is usually pass down to sons unless there is no sons)

    • Thanks for supporting!! Have to speak up for her mother (it is only told in the much much distant future chapter). Her mother family is very close to one another and there is no schemes like that (her dad only have one wife and all her siblings and inlaws get along together very well). There are no schemes between one another and in fact they support one another so well

And the way the story is written, like most of the novels i have read so far (for example Hidden Marriage), the author seems to be writing a script for a 200+ episode drama.     I love how SM always lets out this refined, heavy pressure of an empress, and her stupid aunts don’t even realize just how much she’s actually changed. Oh well, it’ll be their own fault~

  31. Instead of planning for Shen Yue or Shen Qing marriage with Prince Yu, I want Shen Miao supports both of her cousins marriage or become concubine of Fu Xiu Yu. So that, those girl will seriously fight with each other for gain Fu Xiu Yu’s favor until destroy themselves. Also, Shen Second house and Third House would probably become enemy with each other. As for Prince Yu’s matters, I am sure that Shen Mioa could avoid the proposal with other plan and get benefit from making him become one of her revenge tool.

  33. This chapter was my reward for finishing one of my finals! Really, if the family knows that SM’s father would definitely not agree to the whole thing, then what exactly do they think will happen when he comes back and they marries his daughter off? Like if she died because of the marriage, do they think he’ll just let it go?

    I mean seriously, what kind of family does this to each other? I get royal battles for the throne, but these people just want to watch things burn. Like WTF is wrong with you as a human being?

    • If SM got married off when SM’s father return then he cannot do anything since it is already done. And if she died, then SM’s father would definitely go against the Prince (i am sure they would cook up some fake story so that all arrows point there). Then SM’s family will become the enemy of the Imperial family which will just ensure their end.

      • I think even if she married, there are things to be done. It’s a choice. Personally, I think SM’s family has the support of the army. I mean thats why the emperor dude is paranoid right? Like are they gonna sit there and let thrmselves be killed when shit hits the fan? I don’t think so.

  36. The more I read this novel the more I hate the female lead mother. I understand that you love your husband and want to be with him 24/7. But how can you leave your new born daughter in the care of those vile people and expect her to not be harmed. What’s worse is that every year they come back to visit said daughter and they have the audacity to complain how dull she is? I can’t blame the husband as he has no control in the matter of him being at the boarder year round but as a mother she should take responsibility. The female lead is a saint in that regard as normal people would start to form hate or be distant with a mother like her. I can’t even hate those vile dogs as I don’t expect anything better from them.😠😠😠😠😠
